Tuesday, May 30: Today we took up the ethics case study from yesterday. We then looked at specific internal controls to consider when trying to prevent ethical dilemmas from occurring. Lastly, we went over the exam format. I will be posting the exam review in the coming days. You should begin your review at this point.
Monday, May 29: Today we began our final unit that focuses on Accounting Ethics. We looked at a brief presentation on ethical accounting practices and built our vocabulary regarding internal and external controls. There is no homework this evening,but students should continue to prepare for their final exam.
Friday, May 26: Today students presented their findings of Comparative Ratios and Percentages. I will be posting these presentations once I have received them. There is no homework this weekend, but students should continue to prepare for their final exam.

Thursday, May 4: Happy Star Wars Day! Today students submitted their Depreciation In-Class Assignments. We began our investigation of merchandise businesses and the accounting practices associated with those types of business. We took a note (see Chapter 10.1 in your textbooks for a refresher). Afterwards, students were given time in class to work on Page 402-403 Exercises #1-5. These will be completed for homework if not completed in class and corrected during Monday in class.

Tuesday April 4, 2017: Today we took up the Chapter 6 Assignment and completed our review in preparation for our Chapter 6 Test. For homework, students should continue to prepare for their upcoming test.
Monday April 3, 2017: Today we looked at how to overcome errors made in the general ledger. In small groups, each member of the class is responsible for learning how to correct one of five errors that can occur during the ledgering process. Students can find the information they need for these topics on pages 234-239. The remainder of class was used to complete the Chapter 6 assignment and was handed at the end of the class. We will be reviewing Chapter 6 tomorrow during class in preparation for our test on Wednesday.
Friday March 31, 2017: Today we took up the exercises on pages 233-234. Afterwards, students were given time to continue working on their Chapter 6 assignment. For homework, students are encouraged to continue preparing for their Chapter 6 Test on Wednesday. The Chapter 6 Assignment is due on Monday by the end of class.
Thursday March 30, 2017: Today we took up the review questions on Chapter 7.1 from the previous day. We will be looking at the exercises at the beginning of class on Friday. Monday, May 8: Today we took up the homework from Thursday's class. We went through the concepts on Chapter 10.2. Time as given to ensure that the previously completed homework on Page 406 was completed properly. We will review Chapter 10.3 concepts tomorrow and take up Page 415 #2 a, b, and c at that point.
Friday, May 5: Today I am away at a Track and Field meet. While I am away, please complete the following items:

Thursday, May 4: Happy Star Wars Day! Today students submitted their Depreciation In-Class Assignments. We began our investigation of merchandise businesses and the accounting practices associated with those types of business. We took a note (see Chapter 10.1 in your textbooks for a refresher). Afterwards, students were given time in class to work on Page 402-403 Exercises #1-5. These will be completed for homework if not completed in class and corrected during Monday in class.

Monday, May 1: Today we took up the homework from the previous day. We reviewed straight-line and declining balance depreciation methods. As well, we looked at adjustments, closing accounts/entries, and adjusting the balance sheets/income statements in preparation for our in-class assignment this week. Friday, April 28: Today we took up the homework from the previous day. We then looked at the Declining-Balance Method of Depreciation. Afterwards, students were given time to work on practice problems. Thursday, April 27: Today we looked at Straight Line Depreciation, what it is, and how to account/adjust for it in our accounting practice. Thursday, April 20: Today we took up our Chapter 7 In-Class assignment. For homework, students should read and take notes on chapter 8.3 and 8.4 this weekend. Notes will be checked on Tuesday.

Monday April 3, 2017: Today we looked at how to overcome errors made in the general ledger. In small groups, each member of the class is responsible for learning how to correct one of five errors that can occur during the ledgering process. Students can find the information they need for these topics on pages 234-239. The remainder of class was used to complete the Chapter 6 assignment and was handed at the end of the class. We will be reviewing Chapter 6 tomorrow during class in preparation for our test on Wednesday.
